We provide domiciliary care on a planned basis to the residents of Buckshaw Retirement Village, Chorley both alongside Social Services and on a private basis. The village, which is just over ten years old, is a purpose built top quality retirement complex created as part of the Buckshaw Village development. Our service, which hast been awarded “Good” in all areas by CQC, is available for any resident who feels that they need support with their personal care. The challenges we face as we get older can’t be ignored, but that shouldn’t mean that we stop getting the most we can out of life.

A majority of homes aim to cater for both, but some target only one or the other. Housing-with-care is a recent but natural evolution of retirement housing to provide an environment capable of enabling older people to maintain their independence even if they become physically or mentally frail. Deciding whether to move home in older age can be challenging. A move may provide a whole new lease of life, but a wrong choice can be difficult to undo.

Really enjoyed our meal, good service, great atmosphere. The food was excellent, we chose a number of dishes for sharing, will definitely eat here again. We visited Home restaurant for afternoon tea to celebrate a family milestone. Everything was excellent from the minute you walk through the door.

We are very proud to have received their first ever Gold Standard accreditation for dementia design. As for air travel, Buckshaw Village is within easy reach of both Manchester Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, both less than an hour’s drive away. At weekends our HOME turns into a lively local bar late into the evening, with cool sounds and darker lighting. The village is currently well-served by Trinity Primary School, with imminent plans to open another in order to accommodate the village’s popularity. This was our first trip to Home, and it will not be our last. The staff were wonderful explaining the unique menu when we arrived as it was our first time, and throughout the meal they were very attentive, but not overbearing. The food was amazing, very different from your normal menu, a wide variety of dishes that are party of 7 chose nearly every option from. No long wait times, everything arrived promptly and together so nobody left waiting for their dish. The desserts are another level, never seen such intricate and fancy dishes anywhere else.
The atmosphere is chilled and you never feel rushed and the staff are great very confident in helping and advising on the menu. Nestling between the Lancashire market towns of Leyland and Chorley, Buckshaw Village is a hugely desirable home location within Lancashire. Currently home to approximately 4,000 residents, the area is growing rapidly due to its intense popularity.
